Security
The Miami Free Zone maintains formal security protocols in an effort to ensure that the entire facility is a safe environment for our customers and their goods. Property entrances are under camera surveillance, and require either tenant I.D. or security desk check-in.
Security measures at the Miami Free Zone also include:
- 24-hour staffed security on-site, 7 days a week
- On-site U.S. Customs and Border Protection offices
- Camera coverage and access controls throughout property
- Controlled truck access to loading areas
- Personal Identification cards for access into buildings, floors, and elevators
- Fully Fenced perimeter
Miami Free Zone also supports secure supply chains. The U.S. Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program has recently recognized the use of U.S. foreign trade zones as a counter-terrorism best practice.
Since Miami Free Zone is a designated Foreign Trade Zone, anyone who maliciously arrives with the intent to steal merchandise under Customs and Border Patrol supervision could be convicted of a Federal Crime under 18 USC 549, and subject to a $5,000 fine and up to 2 years imprisonment.
